Artistree stitches its beginning to an adventure in sewing I had in 1985 when I took a Make A Quilt In A Day class. Who would have imagined a day of fun would turn into a soon to be twenty year endeavor of love and fulfillment I enjoyed quilting so much, I began creating Tree Skirts for wedding gifts. Each gift was a labor of love. The skirts were met with overwhelming joy Soon, I was encouraged to start a business. A special friend had a tremendous influence on my decision. She started selling my tree skirts in her exceptional gift shop, Molly Bs. Before I knew it, in the year 1990, Artistree became a reality. The name Artistree emerged as I was wondering how to describe what I do. I feel every Christmas Tree deserves a work of Art to circle the base of its welcoming branches and laughing lights Also, every Christmas tree is natures work of art, lovingly and uniquely created every year My business name naturally evolved, Art Is Tree, Artistree I have adapted the Log Cabin design into more elegant patterns for my tree skirts. Ive been told my ability to choose complementary fabrics and patterns makes each skirt come to life. I take pride in the quality of workmanship that goes into each piece Soon, requests for my Tree Skirts led to complementary accessories such as Table Runners, Table Linens, Stockings, Place Mat and Napkin Sets, Door Hangings, Lap Throws, Baby Blankets, Neck Scarves, Aprons and yes, even Quilts. All are handmade. All are unique. Each piece a work of art anyone would be proud to give, delighted to receive or to treasure for oneself I still do all of my own work including: choosing the fabrics, designing patterns, cutting, piecing, quilting, applique and finish work. I make each item with joy and care and the same excellent quality of workmanship. My items are currently being sold in the finest gift shops in Grand Junction, Palisade, Walden, Crested Butte and Gunnison, Colorado. I even have a client in Bethesda, Maryland for whom I do custom pieces
